Westminster is a vibrant community with an excellent location between Denver and Boulder. The city offers a well-educated workforce, outstanding schools, diverse housing opportunities, and premier recreation, entertainment and business attractions.
Westminster is home to approximately 100,000 residents who enjoy gorgeous views of the majestic Rocky Mountains. With direct access to major highways, Westminster’s central location provides easy access to major business and retail centers, recreation centers, golf courses, open space with trails, plus hundreds of restaurants. Preserving open space throughout the city has been a priority in Westminster since 1985 when citizens voted to acquire and maintain open space, subsequently purchasing 2,850 acres of land. This open space provides numerous recreational opportunities with interconnected trails and a rich variety of plants and wildlife.
The Big Dry Creek Trails is one of the jewels of the open space system, extending approximately 10 miles from the eastern boundary of the city to Standley Lake. Other lakes and ponds are conserved at Ketner Lake Open Space, Hidden Lake Open Space, and McKay Lake Open Space, among others. Westminster’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Libraries offers a wide variety of activities and programs for all age groups, including aquatics, fitness and wellness programs, and youth/teen sports and classes. Adult programs include volleyball, basketball, softball and indoor soccer.
Westminster’s residential communities include and variety of Denver real estate opportunities ranging from apartments to luxury homes in friendly, well-defined neighborhoods. New urbanism and mixed-use neighborhoods have been developed, and many neighborhoods are nestled in and around parks, golf courses and open space.
It’s a great place to live whether you are single, raising a family or retiring to a leisurely lifestyle.
