Parker

Recreation and Amenities in Abundance

Wouldn’t it be nice to live in a place that’s rich in extraordinary recreational attractions, cultural facilities, retail conveniences, and quality schools?  Welcome to Parker, Colorado. What distinguishes Parker from nearly all surrounding communities is its rich diversity, with an emphasis on recreation, culture and the arts, and a true sense of community.

Parker’s recreation center, for example, includes a new 100,000-square-foot athletic facility with two basketball courts, an inline hockey rink, plus a variety of cardiovascular and weight equipment.  There’s even an indoor turf facility for soccer, football, lacrosse and more.  The recreation center also features an indoor swimming pool, a triple gym, tennis courts, a climbing tower, a sauna, plus child care, swim parties, aerobics, and various classes for all age groups. The new Parker Arts, Culture and Events Center is scheduled to open in the fall of 2011.  The center includes a 500-seat theatre, an event room, classrooms, plus an art gallery.  The town of Parker also offers numerous cultural events throughout the year, including a Children’s Theatre.

Parker just feels like home, and there’s always something going on, such as the Mayor’s Holiday Lighting event, the Christmas Carriage Parade, and the Winter Wonderland Skate Night and Festival during the holiday season.  The city also hosts Halloween events and summer festivals with a variety of dining and entertainment venues. Located just 20 miles southeast of Denver, Parker was founded in 1864 years after many of our nation’s most famous frontiersmen explored the area decades earlier.  Today, Parker is a progressive, well-planned community with a solid business base, exceptional community services, and excellent schools from the Douglas County School District.  Residents enjoy high quality healthcare services, arts and cultural events, libraries, and so much more.

There are all kinds of sports leagues and activities for people of every conceivable age, nearly a dozen public parks, and championship golf courses.  The town’s charming Mainstreet is lined with boutiques and restaurants, and outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate breathtaking Castlewood Canyon State Park just minutes south. Parker real estate opportunities are in abundance, with a great selection of homes ranging from affordable condominiums and single-family homes, to breathtaking estate homes showcasing amazing views.
