Veteran’s Memorial Day Tribute

Denver’s respected observance of Memorial Day is held at the historic POF Hall just south of the state capitol. The holiday “Tribute” ceremony honors Colorado’s fallen heroes in the presence of families, friends, military / political figures, and the public.

Denver Day of Rock

When: May 27th
Where: 16th Street Mall
Cost: Free Admission, Donations Accepted

Denver Day of Rock is a one-day music festival benefiting the work of Amp the Cause. This free event features five stages of live music along Denver’s 16th Street Mall on Memorial Day Weekend. Denver Day of Rock unites the community through music and family friendly entertainment while also raising funds to help Amp the Cause continue to support non-profits in our community.

The Pressed Conference

When: May 27th
Where: Masonic Event Center
Cost: $45 General Admission

The Pressed Conference is Colorado’s premier cider festival set to feature dozens of cideries on May 27th at the Masonic Event Center in Denver, CO. Expect crisp, bright craft ciders flowing a plenty with lawn games, live music, and general summertime shenanigans. This is sure to be the best ‘conference’ you’ve ever attended and will cap off Colorado Cider Week.

Water World Opening Weekend

When: May 27th & May 28th

Water World, one of America’s largest family water parks, is located just 15 minutes north of downtown Denver, on 64 beautifully landscaped acres. Since opening in 1979 with the first two water slides in the state of Colorado, they now boast over 46 water adventures, and have been rated as one of America’s top ten water parks by the Travel Channel.

Water World features the largest variety of attractions (50) in America, from Wally World for the tots, to Voyage to the Center of the Earth, the ultimate family water adventure. Water World has more family tube rides than any other park in America. Thrill rides are in abundance also, like the Red Line speed slide. Plenty of picnic areas are available, from covered pavilions to beautifully landscaped grass areas.

The Denver Arts Festival

When: May 27th – May 28th
Where: Stapleton Conservatory Green

The  Denver Arts Festival (formerly Downtown Denver Arts Festival) continues to be dedicated to supporting Colorado visual artists while showcasing a select group of national artists. The fine art and fine craft exhibition features over 100 of Colorado’s best artists along with a select group of national artists while over 50,000 people are expected to attend.

Boulder Creek Festival

When: May 27th – May 29th
Where: Boulder Creek Corridor, downtown Boulder
Cost: Free Admission

For over a quarter century, the Boulder Creek Festival has been the unofficial kickoff to summer in Boulder. Widely considered Boulder County’s favorite event, the festival includes three days of festivities featuring a large variety of events, activities, food, and entertainment unique to the Boulder community.

The festival is free to the public and features something for everyone: 9 separate event areas with 500 vendors showcasing everything from community arts and crafts to healthier alternatives, and technology while 3 performance stages feature a spectrum of music and dance. South Gaylord Memorial Day Weekend Festival

When: May 27th – May 29th
Where: 1000 Block of South Gaylord Street
Cost: Free Admission

The South Gaylord Street Festival Series invites you to participate in the 38th Annual Memorial Weekend Festival. Kick-off Summer with three days of great family-friendly entertainment, delicious food, local vendors, and so much more! The festival is located on the 1000 block of South Gaylord Street and begins with live music on Saturday, May 27th from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. The full festival will commence Sunday, May 28th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and run through Monday, May 29th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Festival Series has a long history of bringing together the local community and purveyors of fine products to celebrate this wonderful historic neighborhood in Washington Park.

The biggest and best Memorial Day Celebration! We’re not sure when or how it happened, but somewhere along the way this little run turned into an event of epic proportions. Many like to think it’s part race, run, jog, walk, parade, celebration, and tribute made for everyone. Oh yes you can!

Commerce City Memorial Day Parade

When: May 29th
Where: Begins at 64th Avenue/Newport Street and ends at 6060 E. Parkway
Cost: Free Admission

The state’s largest Memorial Day parade with 100+ entries, Commerce City celebrates 53 years of honoring veterans. From military units and bands to floats, antique cars and horse entries, the 1.5 mile parade route kicks off at 10 a.m. Prior to the parade, the city will host a ceremony at Veteran’s Memorial Park at 9:30 a.m. to recognize this year’s grand marshals. The parade is held rain or shine; parade participation and admission is free.
