Denver New Year’s Eve Events 2018

2019 is almost upon on us and there are many ways to ring in the New Year in Denver. We’ve rounded up some of the top ways to kiss 2018 goodbye. Whether you prefer a low-key night with the family or are looking for something a little wilder, there are plenty of fun events to choose from!

Family Friendly Events

Denver Resolution 5K

When: December 31st | Starting at noon

When: South High School | Denver

Denver’s oldest New Year’s Eve event, the Resoluton 5K.  New this year – noon start time (due to the Denver Bronco Home Game)!  Join 1,000 of your closest friends as you ring in the New Year in style. The event features parking, restrooms, registration, and packet pick-up at South High School. Families can walk, run or stroll. There will be a post-race party with refreshments and lots of prize drawings!

Noon Year’s Eve

When: December 31st | From 9am – 4pm

Where: Children’s Museum of Denver | Marsico Campus

The Children’s Museum of Denver is bringing in the sights, sounds, and excitement of Times Square to the Children’s Museum – all before bedtime! Countdowns and ball drops will be on the hour from 10 am – 4 pm – outside on the Plaza, led by the Master of Ceremonies. There will be bubble wrap, fireworks, rainbow confetti, sparklers, and noisemaker crafts. Kids can enjoy sparkle science experiments, balloon twister, and festive treats in the teaching kitchen!

NYE Fireworks in Downtown Denver

When: December 31st | Shows at 9pm and Midnight

Where: 16th Street Mall | Downtown Denver

The sky will once again sparkle over downtown at the close of 2018 with the New Year’s Eve Fireworks Downtown. The two spectacular fireworks shows will occur at 9 p.m. and midnight. For the best viewpoints, stand along the 16th Street Mall. The identical fireworks shows will be synched to a music playlist from live DJs along the mall. Each show will run for about eight minutes and can be viewed from anywhere along the mall.

Skate the Lake

When: December 31st | 6pm – 10pm

Where: Evergreen Lakehouse | Evergreen

Join the Evergreen Chamber and your local mountain community for the family friendly, alcohol free 23rd annual New Years Eve Skate the Lake celebration. The Fireworks Show begins at 8 pm and there will be open skating until 10pm. Food trucks will be on site with snacks and dinner available. Entertainment will include fire pits, marshmallow roasts, and music by local DJ Sound Mountain.


Leave the Kids at Home

Decadence NYE

When: December 30th – 31st | 6:30 pm

Where: Colorado Convention Center | Downtown Denver

NYE Black Tie Party

When: December 31st | 8pm – 2am

Where: The Westin | Westminster

Ring in 2019 with class and style at the most upscale OPEN BAR New Year’s Eve in Denver. Denver’s NYE Black Tie Party features two incredible live bands, multiple headlining DJ’s, Vegas-style casino games, a huge confetti blast and champagne toast. Starting at 8 pm. guests will have access to three rooms with multiple all-inclusive open bars serving liquor, beer, and wine serviced by 30+ swift bar staff.

New Year’s Eve Burlesque Countdown

When: December 31st | Shows at 7pm and 10pm

Where: The Clocktower Cabaret | Downtown Denver

Naughty Pierre and The Clocktower Clockettes present their best and brightest acts from the past year, with the sassy, classy attitude that made them the Number One selling burlesque troupe in the Rocky Mountain Region. Only twelve acts were chosen – one for each month – and they range from ultra-classic to modern, from smolderingly sensuous to laugh out loud hilarious. This top-shelf, all-star line-up is the best of the best, together for one night only to ring in the new year!

Resolution NYE 2019

When: December 31st | Doors at 9pm

Where: McNichols Building | Denver
