Denver Holiday Events The Holidays are a time of twinkling lights, making memories, and enjoying festivities. No matter what you’re celebrating, there are plenty of opportunities to experience the magic of the Holidays around Denver. Following are a list of Denver Holiday events that are perfect for the whole family!

17th Annual Denver Christkindl Market

When: November 17th – December 23rd

Where: Skyline Park, Downtown Denver

Immerse yourself in German and European holiday traditions right here in Denver. Indulge in delicious cuisine and festive German drinks. Shop around for handmade jewelry, toys, clothing, gifts, and more! Each night features live entertainment inside the festival tent where dancing is highly encouraged!

Skyline Ice Rink

When: November 21st – February 16th

Where: Skyline Park, Downtown Denver

The Skyline Ice Rink in the heart of downtown Denver is the perfect place to enjoy some winter fun! Make it a date, a family outing, or some post-work stress relief. Skate rentals for kids 12 and under are $6, and rentald for 13 and up are $8. Bring your own skates and skate for free!

45th Annual Turkey Trot

When: November 22nd

Where: Washington Park, Denver

In its 45th year, this fun Thanksgiving tradition draws more than 20,000 people to Denver’s beautiful Washington Park for a four-mile run and walk supporting Mile High United Way’s work in the community. Proceeds from the Mile High United Way Turkey Trot go towards ensuring that children enter school ready to learn and are reading at grade level by the end of third grade, young people graduate from high school ready for a career or college, and families have the opportunity to move towards self-sufficiency.

Denver Botanic Gardens’ Blossoms of Light

When: November 23rd – January 1st

Where: Denver Botanic Gardens, York Street

The Gardens’ signature event for over three decades, this annual holiday lights extravaganza transforms the York Street location into a twinkling winter wonderland. With fresh and exciting new features, along with some fan favorites, this year’s display will be brighter and more expansive than ever before!

Candlelight Walk in Littleton

When: November 24th

WhereMain Street, Littleton

The 35th annual event will feature more holiday entertainment than ever before, including the Littleton High School choir, Heritage High School Brass, live reindeer and a holiday float adorned with a glittering ice princess and dancing elves. The event culminates with Santa illuminating more than one million lights in downtown!

Colorado Ballet: The Nutcracker

When: November 24th – December 24th

Where: Ellie Caulkins Opera House

Colorado Ballet’s acclaimed Nutcracker, the largest in the state and named the best-loved Nutcracker in the U.S. in the 10th Annual Goldstar National Nutcracker Award Contest, returns for its 58th year. Live music performed by the Colorado Ballet Orchestra. Performances sell out, so get your tickets early!

9News Parade of Lights

When: November 30th – December 1st

Where: Downtown Denver

The 9News Parade of Lights is a magical nighttime event, which features more than 40 units including extravagantly illuminated floats, giant helium-filled character balloons, magnificent marching bands, traditional equestrian units and vibrant cultural entries.

Zoo Lights at the Denver Zoo

When: December 1st – 31st

WhereThe Denver Zoo

Zoo Lights celebrates its 28th year as one of Denver’s most beloved and popular holiday traditions. To protect the magic of the season tickets are limited by date and issued for a one-hour entry time window. Most evenings sell out in advance and tickets will not be available at the door for evenings that sell out.

Denver Holiday Bazaar

When: December 7th – 9th

Where: RiNo Arts District

The ultimate holiday pop-up shopping experience brought to you by Denver BAZAAR. A festive weekend-long party in the streets of RiNo Art District featuring the largest curated mix of Denver’s makers and artists, music, cocktails & food.

Community Menorah Lighting

When: December 12th

Where: 350 South Dahlia Street

Enjoy a candle-lighting ceremony, musical performance by children from the JCC Denver Early Childhood Center, and light refreshments served inside the lobby of the JCC!

Denver Pavilions Holiday Carousel

When: December 15th – January 2nd

Where: 16th Street Mall & Glenarm Place

Denver Pavilions holiday carousel returns for its 4th year. The carousel brings a family-friendly entertainment to the mall, helps light up Glenarm & 16th & a portion of the proceeds will benefit Food Bank of the Rockies.

The Polar Express Train Ride

When: Dates and Times Vary

Where: Colorado Railroad Museum

The story of The Polar Express is being theatrically re-created so you and your family can be immersed in the sights, sounds and intrigue of this classic children’s tale. Prepare to be surrounded by the magic and wonder of the holiday season!
