12 Years – 2005 – Right at the beginning of the big real estate crash…tough years but I learned a lot.
Gardening, Hiking, Travel, Skiing, Mid-Century and Contemporary Modern Architecture, Art, Rummikub,
Diligent, Loyal, Honest, Enthusiastic and Crazy (not in the bad way, I hope!)
Skiing – I selected Denver out of college as a CPA for my first job over offers in Chicago, San Francisco, and Los Angeles because I loved to ski. I quit skiing many years ago only to pick it up in recent years finding my passion all over again.
“Sweet Cow” – they have the best Malted Milk Shakes in town.
You cannot be serious, ONE?
Myanmar, Cambodia – I have always wanted to visit these ancient structures and study more of the building and culture related to them.
Getting sober – I had a horrid problem with drinking. 14 years ago, was the start of the end of that episode of my life. It took a lot of hard work, patience, and forgiveness. I struggled for many years not knowing anyone who had this same problem. At this point it is rather obvious I don’t keep this hidden in the hopes I can be the one person somebody meets or knows who might be able help someone else by letting them know they are not the only one who have experienced addiction.
Traveling Europe on my own right out of high school. My parents gave me a Freddie Laker Airline ticket, a little bit of money, and a Eurail Pass and told me that they did not want me to go into certain countries due to the political climate at the time. So, I was not supposed to go to Berlin – went to Berlin of course and got busted running into our neighbors! Traveling at that age and meeting people from all over the world was such a great experience. The Australians all over Europe at the time were so much fun to travel with.
Multiple languages without an accent. I would love to be able to travel the world and speak to others in their native language. I think I could learn a lot more about people and their inner feelings and souls when speaking with them in their language, not just American-English.
First concert ever – it was in High School – Fleetwood Mac on their release of the fantastic multi-platinum album “Rumors”. I think we always remember our first concert.
Vyasa – writer attributed to the ancient Indian Sanskrit epics of the “Mahabharata” – I have lots of questions regarding whether this is all from real events or fiction and when did all of this take place. I can’t tell you the rest of my reason or you will determine my true craziness… LOL!
