2nd Annual Funk & Farm Festival

Where: Nighthawk Brewery

Nighthawk Brewery’s Second Annual Funk & Farm Fest is a celebration of grisette, saison, and farmhouse beers! This invitational event will feature Colorado breweries from around the state. Included in your ticket purchase will be a commemorative glass, fresh made food from the Nighthawk Brewery Pizza Kitchen, and all the funky delicious beer you could hope for! We have invited some of Colorado’s best brewers of these great historic ales from Belgium and France. Come on by and get your funk on!

Cajun Crawfish Boil

Mark your calendars for the third annual Cajun Crawfish Boil to benefit the National Repertory Orchestra (NRO) on Friday, June 9th, 2017. The ultimate Bayou experience will kick off at 6:30 PM at the Breckenridge Riverwalk Center. Tickets are just $40 and include crawfish, all the fixins’ and desert beignets provided by The Lost Cajun, beer hand crafted by Broken Compass Brewery and Breckenridge Brewery, drinks provided by the Breckenridge Distillery, tastings from Olive Fusion and music provided by Tony Trahan and the BlueKrewe.

Highlands Street Fair

The 35th Annual Highlands Street Fair will be held Saturday, June 3 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., with activities stretching from Julian St. to Perry St. along 32nd Ave. This quintessential summer event is a celebration for all ages, with three stages, a bike parade, slack-line instruction, kid’s art area, local vendors, beer garden, craft cocktails and more.

One of Highlands Square’s largest events of the year, the Highlands Street Fair attracts Highlands Square residents, local Denverites and visitors to enjoy Highlands Square’s laid-back, family-friendly vibe.

Denver Beer CO’s Sundrenched Music Fest

Where: Denver Beer Co.

Kick off the summer season at SunDrenchedMusicFest. They are taking over Denver Beer Co. Canwork’s parking lot for an afternoon of summer jams! Because you gotta get up (to Sunnyside) to get down. This year’s Sun Drenched Music Fest is going to rock with live music all day, special pairings, sand volleyball, and beach games. So grab your friends and get ready to rock the beats of summer!

Capitol Hill People’s Fair

Where: Civic Center Park

The People’s Fair is one of the largest two-day festivals in the country with over 200,000 fair-goers, and is one of Colorado’s longest-running outdoor urban festivals featuring handmade arts & crafts, food from local restaurants, kids’ activities, live local entertainment, and more!

Special features of the People’s Fair include a wine pavilion adjacent to the jazz stage, the Mural Project, Fine Art Avenue located on 14th Ave., and an ever-evolving kids and Family Area with kids craft projects, sports activities, a carnival, and much more.

Parker Days Festival

Enjoy a weekend of fun at the Parker Days Festival! There will be plenty of activities and entertainment including concerts, carnival rides, and a parade. A car show and farmers market will also be a part of this fun-filled weekend.

Colorado Renaissance Festival

Flash back to the 16th Century and journey through a medieval city. Enjoy full-armor jousting, tasty turkey legs, music and a marketplace featuring more than 200 artisans.

Ridge at 38th Criterium and Brewfest

Where: West 38th between Teller and Reed
When: Sunday, June 11th
Time: 8 am – 8 pm
Cost: Free

The Ridge at 38 Criterium is a cycling race on a fast, 1.15 mile course in the in the heart of Wheat Ridge. Participating cyclists ride as many laps of the circuit as possible within the time limit. This ensures a lot of action and excitement for spectators and athletes, so don’t miss out on the fun!

Back this year is a Brewfest featuring some of the best local breweries.  In addition to racing and beer, the event features free festivities for spectators, including a family-friendly festival with food, live music, vendors, lively commentators announcing the action, and a kids’ zone featuring a bouncy castle and face painting!

The Denver Deluxe

Where: Between 26th & 27th on Walnut

Cost: $10 General Admission, $20 Deluxe Package

The Denver Deluxe combines all summer essentials for an incredible afternoon music fest. Jam to live music all afternoon with cold beers tapped, and burgers being flipped. This event will also feature Live Crush street and graffiti artists. This is a family-friendly event and kids under 12 are free.

Sand in the City Festival

Where: Ralston Park at 64th and Simms
When: Saturday, June 24th & Sunday, June 25th
Time: Starting at 10 am
Cost: $5

The two-day long weekend event offers all-ages fun in the sun at Metro Denver’s only Sand in the City Festival! Attendees will enjoy a variety of entertainment, food, and beverage offerings including giant sand sculptures built by local residents; live music on a full stage; luaus both Saturday and Sunday; craft beer from local breweries; local vendors offering tons of shopping, food, and beverage choices; the Kids’ Zone, featuring activities for kids of all ages including a giant sandbox, bouncy castles, games, crafts and free face painting.

Viking Bash

Where: Denver Museum of Nature & Science
When: Friday, June 2nd
Time: 7 pm – 10 pm
Cost: $38 adult member, $43 adult non-member

Revel, imbibe, bust myths, see replica ships, and explore a Viking camp with the local Fjellborg Viking Reenactor Society, including wild steel weapon combat! Travel to distant lands and times in the temporary exhibition, Vikings: Beyond the Legend. Costumes are encouraged! Please register for a timed ticket to the exhibition between 7:10 and 8:30 p.m. Ticket also includes one drink and appetizers. Ages 21 +

17th Annual Tesoro Indian Market and Powwow

Where: Tesoro Culture Center

The Indian Market & Powwow has over 50 of the nation’s top award winning Native American artists in pottery, jewelry, easel arts, etc. An inter-tribal contest Powwow occupies the valley Sat.-Sun. with dancers and drummers in competitions of Traditional, Shawl, Fancy, Grass & Jingle dancing. On Sun., Native Americans in our Armed Services are honored.

Denver Chalk Arts Festival

Where: Larimer Street, Downtown Denver
When: Saturday, June 3rd & Sunday, June 4th
Time: Starting at 10 am
Cost: Free Admission

More than 200 professional, amateur and student artists will delight and amaze Denverites with their incredible talents in what has become one of the city’s most treasured events. Over the course of two days, the artists will take to the street armed with vivid pastel chalks and spend hours on their hands and knees recreating major masterpieces or sharing original works of art. Spectators will watch as the intricate chalk paintings come to life and spread out to adorn four downtown blocks in and around Larimer Square. Visitors will enjoy live music, food and beverages while also having the rare opportunity to interact with the artists as they work.

Denver Greek Festival

Juneteenth Music Festival

Juneteenth is a cultural event celebrated by diverse people of all colors, backgrounds, and nationalities. Denver, Colorado’s Juneteenth Music Festival is one of the nation’s largest celebrations, drawing in record numbers of festival-goers and participation. The event features live performances, art and cultural exhibitions, and food and commercial vendors; with partners and sponsors ranging from community support networks and organizations, to local and international companies.

Cherry Blossom Festival

Where: On Lawrence Street Between 19th and 20th

Japanese culture and heritage are showcased in this annual event. Dance, taiko drums, and martial arts are featured on the outdoor stage, while inside the Denver Buddhist Temple are food sales, exhibits, and demos.

Children’s Day Japanese Fish Kites

Where: Denver Museum of Miniatures
When: Saturday, June 17th
Time: 1 pm – 2 pm
Cost: $8 – $10

In this workshop, students will make a carp kites while learning about holidays celebrated by families in Japan. This event will be held in the Museum basement classroom. Due to the historic nature of the house, this area is not handicap accessable. Contact the Museum for any accommodation needs. A minimum of five pre-registered attendees is required for the workshop. If the minimum is not reached, refunds will be offered.
